Shark conservation in Arabia workshop

Egypt represented in the General Organization of Veterinary Services has been invited by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) to share and participate in “Shark conservation in Arabia workshop” held in Dubai – United Arab Emirates on October 8th – 11th, 2012. The Workshop was organized by IFAW in cooperation with Ministry of Environment and water – Dubai. Experts & researchers from coastal countries (Arab and non-Arab) attended this workshop. Dr. R. Toma and Dr. A. Khaddam, Egyptian Wildlife Service – (Giza Zoo) represented Egypt. The workshop aims to draw attention to the real threats to sharks globally and regionally. Extensive discussion defines the consequential results; suggest ideas and measures to be taken in order to address main requirements and effective measures for conservation of the sharks in each country.
