The most recent Cites notification NO. 036/2012 declared on 18th April 2012 under the title National laws for implementation of the convention Has included EGYPT under category 1 denoting that Egypt is adopting legislative measures meet with requirements for CITES implementation provision and prohibited trade in violation as well It is well known that CITES secretariat under the umbrella of national legislation project conducts legislative analysis for each party to determine compliance degree placing party countries in 3 consequent categories according to the national legislation they adopt to implement the convention as follows Category 1: legislations that are believed generally to meet the requirements for implementation of CITES. Category 2: legislations that are believed generally not to meet all requirements for implementation of CITES. Category 3: legislations that are believed generally not to meet the requirements for implementation of CITES. It is to be known that EGYPT represented by Egyptian CITES management authority as the focal point for cites convention succeeded in overcoming a lot of obstacles and built up an integrated base for CITES implementation.
