Giza Zoological Garden is the first African Zoo joins the AZAA

Giza Zoological Garden is the first African Zoo joins the AZAA “Arabian Zoos & Aquarium Association” in September 2015.

The 3rd Annual Conference of AZAA was held in the period from 9-10 September 2015 in Abu Dhabi- United Arab Emirates.

Dr Fatma Tammam, Undersecretary of State for Egyptian Zoos and Wildlife Conservation, and Dr. Ragy Toma, General Manager of Wildlife Conservation, attended the conference as representatives of Giza Zoological Garden. Gaining the AZAA membership is an important step for Giza Zoo to be back to the international zoo community beside the PAZAA membership we gained in 2008.

The conference’s attendees discussed the ways of cooperation between the Arabian Countries in conservation of endangered animals. They also discussed how to plan a regional animal management.
